Suotonye Deweaver
Suotonye Deweaver is an award-winning writer and activist from Oakland whose life sentence in prison was commuted by California’s Governor Brown after 21 years for his transformative community work in prison. He is a Soros Justice Fellow, an Uncommon Hero Awardee, a Just Leadership Fellow, a Center of Just Journalism Fellow, and a Canary Foundation Prize winner. Currently, Suotonye is the owner of Re:Frame LLC, a consultancy that helps organizations and leaders understand and operationalize the systems change frameworks that he has learned in his work. Suotonye participated in the 2022 Re-Storying Justice Jam and is looking forward to being part of this year’s team!
